About Archbishop Ron

Archbishop Ron was the first person authorised in Australia as both a civil and religious celebrant. Over the many years since Archbishop Ron has performed hundreds of weddings, commitment ceremonies, Baptisms, house blessings, and other life celebrations.

In his “day job” Archbishop Ron is the founder and CEO of Ecumenical Christian Welfare, a small not-for-profit association that provides accommodation and support to homeless people in western Sydney. He is also the Presiding Bishop of the Ecumenical Catholic Church of Australia, a small independent church of Catholic tradition and origins.

Archbishop Ron is heavily involved (hands-on) in our welfare mission Thailand, particularly in the Isaan region, where he spends many months a year conducting various projects aimed at improving the lives of people often most rejected by society. In April of 2019 Archbishop Ron entered “his” local village temple in Si Sa Ket Province as a Buddhist monk. No, he did not desert his Christian faith but he did come to understand the local people much better and gain insight that normally escapes most casual visitors.

Archbishop Ron is not your “average clergyman”. He is a man who has experienced life and understands the lives and aspirations of ordinary people.
He is also a keen ten-pin bowler and has represented, captained, and coached NSW teams at State and National levels and has participated in ten-pin tournaments around the world over the years. Archbishop Ron holds a Bachelor in Divinity from Trinity College, a Master of Ministry from Charles Sturt University, a Doctorate of Ministry from the GTF and various other qualifications in Training and Assessment, Nursing, Welfare, and Business. He is also a Justice of the Peace for NSW

He is the proud father of two wonderful Sons, an amazing daughter and grandfather to three beautiful granddaughters and one equally handsome grandson.
