A Free Honeymoon?
On November 15th 2017, 61.2% of Australian voters elected to approved “same sex” Marriage in Australia. It was an historic occasion and one worth celebrating. Legislation to effect the result of the vote was enacted on December 7th 2017 and Marriage between two adults – regardless of gender – became possible from December 9th in that same year.

The decision of the Australian people was welcomed by Archbishop Ron who had been performing “Commitment Ceremonies” for same gender couples many years before same sex Marriage became legal. It has always been Archbishop Ron’s Theology and philosophy that Marriage is the public expression of a life-time commitment between two consenting adults borne out of love one for the other. If God is Love then God, however we may understand God, blesses such love and the church is poorly placed to object to anything that helps sustain people throughout their lives – especially Marriage.

In Australia you have two options when it comes to Marriages – Marriage by a Religious Celebrant or Marriage by a Civil Celebrant – Archbishop Ron was the first person licenced in Australia to undertake both types of ceremony and has been an authorised celebrant since 2002.

Archbishop Ron wants to continue celebrating Marriage Equality in Australia. For this reason, in conjunction with the Poseidon Residence in Jomtien, a beachside suburb of Pattaya in Thailand, Archbishop Ron is giving all of his newly-wed couples a free week in one of the luxurious suites at the Residence. There are no strings attached – the gift includes accommodation and breakfast for two for the seven days, and a “Honeymoon Dinner” for four in the fabulous Wine Cellar Restaurant with Chef Bart taking care of you (Alcohol not included). Yes, you will have to pay your own airfares and other ancillary costs, but the accommodation alone is worth in excess of AU$1700.
